Join Mac McCoy for “Saturday Hope” on Hope Radio 88.5 and 106.7 Saturday mornings from 9:00am until noon. Mac can also be heard as Co-host with Kevin Groves for Faith and Friends Friday then again Sunday Mornings from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm as they host Sunday Drive.

Mac felt the call of Christ when one of his childhood friends shared the story of salvation with him.  His love for music gave him the opportunity to be the bass player and vocalist for his church youth group in Miami Florida. This group known as The New Day Singers along with their Directors recorded and went on tour with an original contemporary cantata titled Jesus Christ He’s the Real Thing.

His active participation in church led to positions as Minister of Music and Worship Director, Children’s Church Director, Minister of Youth and Associate Pastor all while working full time as the Production Manager for a local manufacturing firm. Mac sang with Pillar Records Choir, played keyboard and sang vocals for Third Watch and currently is a keyboard and vocalist at Anchor Baptist in Porters Neck along with Kevin Groves.

Mac’s service time in the United States Air Force brought him to Wilmington, NC. There he met the love of his life marrying her in 1978. Together they served in ministry and became the owners of Cox Christian Book and Gift from 2001 until it closed in 2014. He has three grown children, four granddaughters, two grandsons and one great grandson.

Throughout his life, Mac was told that he had a voice for radio. The Station Manager for WPJC in Burgaw recognized his gift and invited him to record voice tracks for the station until the station was purchased then changed to a Rock music format. Mac went on to Co-host God and Country with Kevin Groves on The Big Talker.

While directing music at a local church, he met a visitor who turned out to be Dale Miller. Dale shared about a new Christian Radio station in the area and Mac has been a fan of Carolina Christian Radio ever since. Neither one knew they would one day work there together.

Mac is so grateful to God and Carolina Christian Radio for the opportunity to be a part of the team and share the music, ministry and message of Hope Radio.
